Honey bees are natures uncontested alchemists. They turn nectar into honey. An organic, natural low GI sugar alternative with no additives that has an infinite shelf-life. The bees pollinate as they go, providing an essential role in our ecosystem.

Honey is the least gas guzzling sweetener we have. Beets and corn (processed into fructose syrup) are spectacularly energy intensive to grow,  process and transport. At Alchemy Honey we do our very best to minimise our carbon footprint. We use cycles whenever possible. We even have a specially adapted cycle trailer to move hives and make local honey deliveries.

We work in harmony with nature. We manage our Welsh bees in a sustainable way. We don't import bees. We don't use antibiotics. We never take royal jelly from the bees and we never take honey that the bees need for themselves. We treat bees with the respect they deserve, unlike the big industrial producers.

Did you know that most of the honey sold in supermarkets can not be traced to source?

Many countries have banned the importation of honey from China due to the illegal practice of bulking the product with adulterants. The problem is, in the UK it is legal to sell honey labeled as "product of many countries". The only way to check where honey comes from is to analyse the pollen signature. BUT supermarket honey has been stripped of pollen!

Every year the UK imports more and more honey, the same for the USA and other major economies. Yet world honey production has been in serious decline for decades. The maths just don't add up. Something is getting added to imported honey.
